Blame the Government!
Posted in Deep Thoughts, Stories by Keon at 2:19 pm |

It’s so fun for everyone to blame the government for anything and everything. You get in line at the post office and wait for hours to go turn in your passport renewal forms. When you get to the front of the line, you don’t have the right forms. You have to go home, print then, because they’re out. You come back to turn in your form, and they don’t want it in blue ink. You print out another one, redo it in black ink, and go back, and now they’re closed! You blame the damn government! But it was really your stupidity that got you where you are. You need to read the instructions and turn the forms in the right way the FIRST time.

I recently had to go in and renew my passport. Now, this is something you do once every 10 years, (or 5 if you’re younger), and so this was the first time I was doing this myself. I read all of the instructions, got all of the materials and turned it in on the first try. I figured out that going to the County Clerk/Recorder’s office, it’s a lot faster than the post office.

My point is, if you do your part, and READ the goddamn instructions, you won’t be sent back and forth through line and get things done. You really shouldn’t blame the government (for everything). Quite often, it’s your own incompetence that screws you over.

Just THINK every now and again.

wow, i got my passport in like 3 days while spending less than 20min at the passport agency… sounds like you had it rough ;) …. try being detained in Egypt for like 2 weeks while they figure out where you are “really” from.

Jimmy, how did you get your passport in 3 days? I paid $130 to get it expedited and that takes 15 days. :/ eek… this sucks.
