I was recently contacted by a BeerForBrains visitor through email.
They pointed me towards their own site.
Its a website dedicated to bums, hobos, and homeless people.
Apparently they go to different cities and talk to these people and then post about it on their site. I went to it. It was rather funny.
The one I read was about some guy that stared at oncoming traffic all day.
While constantly blinking.
When they confronted him and asked why he was blinking so much he replied that he was “downloading and redistributing music”. Just think about it…all this time I thought I had to be on a computer and connected to the internet in order to illegally download music.
Compared to this guy I’m a freaking idiot.
They talked to him for a little bit longer and patted him on the back for fighting the RIAA and The Man. Its been reported that he later punched a cop.
Sweet man.
They concluded their email with an invitation to write for the site.
Haha, apparently they had been reading my own hobo stories.
Heres a quote from the article:
“We approached to see if we could talk to him. After we introduced ourselves we learned this Tool fan’s name is Steve D. We commented that we had seen him pinching his fingers and asked if he could explain what he was doing. Steve told us that he was downloading music from the internet and then started to explain the theory of line of sight to us, which for those of you that don’t know, is a principle of radio theory relating to how signals are transmitted. Obviously this was not the time to raise the incongruity between how the internet works and radio waves travel. If Steve says he can download music with his fingers then it’s probably best to pretend to believe him.”
